Linking mind and body, understanding the brain, and activating your innate healing.
These modalities gained worldwide recognition through scientific research
A therapists' toolbox:Science based modalities such as NLP, hypnosis and neuroscience coaching bring different tools to the therapy room. While NLP prepares the mind for change and encourages personal growth and excellence, hypnosis digs deeper. An empathetic therapist helps you untangle conflicting beliefs, bring insight to problems and resolve underlying causes that lie buried in the subconscious mind. Neuroscience coaching adds scientific insights into how the brain works and helps you create well-formed outcomes. Combined, these therapies set the wheels in motion for profound positive change and a new zest for life. |
Conscious versus subconscious mind: Like most of us, you may without realising it, carry emotional baggage from your past. This creates an inner dialogue that is destructive. Most emotional experiences in early life are unknown to the conscious mind and deeply buried in the subconscious. Erroneous thinking and negative behaviour are often the result of negative programming by various authority figures during one's childhood. However, not all problems that one experiences in later life necessarily have their origins that eminate so far back in one's life. Negative emotional experiences, physical and mental abuse, and other trauma also leaves deep scars. more Neuroplasticity: It is the innate potential of one's brain to change and reorganise itself by adapting and rewiring itself in response to its internal and/or external environment. This change can be either positive or negative. When one engages in destructive behaviour, the brain's function and structure change for the worst, as is the case in alcohol or drug abuse that are examples of negative neuroplasticity. However, when one releases one's negativity and creates new behaviour patterns, amazing things happen — the brain reorganises itself, restores balance and healing. Wellbeing is set in motion — a wonderful example of positive neuroplasticity. more Psychoneuroimmunology [PNI]: This field of science acknowledges that one's mental state affects one's immune system and overall health. Left unattended for too long, this causes health problems, including serious diseases like cancer. Prolonged stress switches off one's natural defences leaving one depleted and physically vulnerable. Therefore, resolving emotional problems helps one move from fight and flight to protection mode where one's immune system functions optimally. more Placebo effect: When cancer patients go into spontaneous remission, many people do not understand that there is a powerful phenomenon at play, called the placebo effect. They tend to attribute this to some form of miraculous healing or denial that anything was ever wrong. Knowing what we do about PNI and conditioning, we now understand that this kind of healing comes from the power of the mind. Yvonne refers to this unexplained healing as |
