Hypnotherapy is a powerful modality that fixes many personal problems
It easily addresses personal, professional, academic, fitness, mental, physical and spiritual issues for young and old, leaving one with a renewed zest for life. Read through our checklist to find out how it benefits you. In short, hypnotherapy unlocks your full potential.
Stress, anxiety and habits
Stress and general issues: Hypnotherapy helps you to: resolve inner conflict; deal with depression; alleviate stress and anxiety to let you relax and sleep better; it enhances focus, memory and concentration to overcome exam phobias and improve results; it helps manage the fear of flying; it is a fantastic way of understanding one's relationship with food to solve weight issues; it helps to understand the motivation behind debilitating eating disorders; it is one of the best modalities for quitting smoking; it helps one deal with trauma and bereavement; and it improves one's understanding of conflict between partners to build healthier relationships and cohesive families. |
Changing habits, beliefs and conditioning: Traumatic and emotional experiences often lead to negative beliefs about oneself. This creates negative inner dialogue that keeps replaying in the mind. We form habits through repetition and when one compounds this kind of dialogue, it reinforces a destructive thinking pattern that drives destructive behaviour. Investigative therapy finds the underlying cause of these thinking patterns to correct them. more |
Anxiety versus panic attacks: If one understands the source behind one's anxiety it differentiates it from panic attacks where one does not consciously grasp what lies hidden in the subconscious. A panic attack is the manifestation of a hidden issue. It is an indicator that one should investigate and resolved these buried motivators — it is the warning light on the dashboard telling one that something is amiss. Panic attacks abate when one hears the subconscious message. |
Addictions, weight management and eating disorders
Addiction: There are common addictions and there are complex addictions. Common addictions include smoking, food, sugar and the excessive use of social media. Complex addictions are narcotics including marijuana, alcoholism, addiction to nicotine (different from smoking), pornography and gambling. Common addictions are the gateway to complex ones. The latter require multidisciplinary rehabilitation that is based on the latest proven neurobiological and behavioural neuroscience research. It is very important that you read the linked information page as it describes how addictions form, what changes happen to the brain and the therapeutic plan needed to recover. Also, in the following page is an inspiring and heartfelt account of one of Yvonne's clients who made a full recovery from addiction to crystal meth and alcohol. important recovery info |
Weight loss: It's not food that causes your weight issues but your relationship with it that does. Coaching helps you to understand why your weight fluctuates like a yo-yo and why you crave certain foods. Hypnotherapy helps you to entrench new beneficial habits around eating, resulting in sustainable weight loss. Learn about leaky gut syndrome, how the foods you eat drive your metabolism and how to rebalance your microbiome. By solving the underlying physical and emotional motivators that drive you to eat incorrectly, you have a good recipe for success to lose unwanted weight and to keep it off. more |
Obesity: Obesity has its origin in a complex addiction to food and sugar. Gluten binds to the opiate receptors in your brain, which activates the brain's reward system thereby creating the craving and urges to eat more. It is therefore not surprising that one can get addicted to bread, pasta, cake and all other foods that have gluten and sugar! To overcome these urges to eat, one must first understand what the underlying emotional motivators are that brought you into this state of imbalance. It is also important to realise that gluten and sugar change the brain in similar ways substances of abuse do. Yvonne works with you throughout your journey of recovery. Together with you, she will advise on an addiction rehabilitation protocol, personalised to your needs. more |
Anorexia, Bulimia and Binge Eating Disorders: If this is an affliction of yours, it is important to realise that there are neurobiological changes that have occurred in your brain, holding this illness in place. These are the same brain structures affected by OCD, ADD and other complex addictions. Recovery therefore needs long-term commitment. The good news is that NLP, hypnotherapy and coaching are magnificent modalities that give the brain time to recover and regain its optimal functioning. more |
Quitting the smoking habit
Hypnosis with a 75% success rate has a very good track record to help you easily quit this nasty habit. Yvonne's experience shows that those who have three sessions in succession are most successful in stepping out of this habit. Following this principle, 3 out of 4 clients quite easily stop smoking. Some people are however, heavily addicted to nicotine and need to engage in a longer-term nicotine rehabilitation programme. Scientific research tells us that about 1 in 10 people who smoke cigarettes become addicted to the drug nicotine; the other 9 out of 10 are not addicted per se but have fallen into a deeply ingrained habit. This is an important differentiation. Not only is it encouraging to know but it helps everyone wanting to quit because we can now tailor specific plans to help a wide spectrum of people.
Cancer
Working with Cancer patients: Yvonne's personal journey with breast cancer forced her to deeply introspect to see why and where her body went wrong. During her painful journey, she came to an understanding vastly different from what medicine teaches. If you are on a similar path and need some help and guidance to make sense of what is happening to you and what choices you have, then Yvonne is there to assist. There is a vast array of information on the internet, some good and sound in its scientific research and a quagmire of misleading, speculative information that lacks any sensibility and fact. There is contradictory information about what one should or should not do to cure one's cancer. There are recommendations about what to eat, what alternative treatments work, what mental approaches work, what is placebo versus nocebo, etcetera. Yvonne gladly shares her understanding and compassionately travels your journey with you, which may at times conjure fear and trepidation in you because of its tendency to have an uncertain future outcome. She has first-hand experience of what you are going through and will guide you through the trauma to reprogram negative conditioning and to come out the other side, empowered with a renewed zest for life. Dementia
Dementia: Scientific research into Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other forms of dementia is advancing in leaps and bounds. Researchers look to understand and find implicated proteins, mutated genes and other causes of degenerative brain diseases yet, science has found no cure. Some pharmacological treatments slow down the degeneration and other treatments can bring about some temporary relief. Astonishingly, it is scientifically well-documented that hypnosis outperforms other treatments in the way that it brings relief to dementia patients by reducing their stress and anxiety caused by this frightening disorder. This improves their quality of life. |
